In the time of the Vietnam War, actress Jane Fonda went to Asia. She took pictures with people who were considered enemies of the United States,
and many people were really upset about those photos. Fonda later said that she didn’t intend to offend anyone with those old pictures,
but her reputation took a big hit because a lot of people thought her protests against America’s role in the Vietnam War were like betraying the country.
Fonda was never officially charged for her involvement in the controversial photos.
Recently, a former advisor to Trump mentioned Fonda’s difficult history during a segment on Fox News and even claimed that the older actress committed “treason” by taking those pictures back in 1972.
Stephen Miller, who used to be a senior advisor in Trump’s White House, said some really controversial things about Fonda during a Fox News show on Wednesday.
During a discussion on a conservative entertainment-news channel, Miller made a serious accusation against the two-time Academy Award-winning actress, claiming she committed high treason. This was because she traveled to Vietnam in 1972 and spoke on a Vietnamese radio show to criticize America’s role in the war in Asia.
In a picture taken during her trip to Vietnam, Fonda was seen sitting on an anti-aircraft gun, which was meant to target American pilots and aircraft flying over Vietnam.
Fonda has been back in the spotlight lately because of her activism. During Trump’s time as president, she organized protests in Washington and got arrested at least once. Now, she’s urging President Joe Biden to stop the pipeline that Trump set up while he was in office.
Miller is now going to Fox News to stand up against Fonda and protect the Trump pipeline from being shut down by Biden.
Miller mentioned that some people might not remember what Fonda did during the Vietnam War. He pointed out that she chose to be a part of North Vietnamese Communist propaganda by doing broadcasts on their radio station.
He added, “She sat on their anti-aircraft battery that’s used to shoot down American planes and American airmen. This is by any definition, and I am going to use the word, what she did is treason. And she was held up as a hero?”
A long time ago, Fonda said sorry to American veterans for the famous “Hanoi Jane” picture. Still, she didn’t feel bad about her actions against the war.
“I was trying to help end the killing and the war, but there were times when I was thoughtless and careless about it, and I’m very sorry that I hurt them,” She shared with Barbara Walters in 1988.
Recently, Fonda criticized President Biden for not acting quickly enough to stop the Trump pipeline. She mentioned that he hasn’t done “enough” to prevent the environmental problems caused by the pipeline.
Fonda expressed deep appreciation for his efforts, saying, “We really appreciate everything he’s done. He has accomplished many great things, but it’s still not enough. We need to be bolder and act faster. Time is running out. Scientists warn that we have less than nine years to reduce our emissions by half. However, Line 3 is moving us in the wrong direction, and every day we hear that emissions are increasing instead of decreasing.”
“So we have to put our bodies on the line and do whatever we can to get our administration to call a halt to these permits,” she added.
Do you agree with Miller that Fonda is a traitor?
