Lugner and Reiländer wed just over two months ago on June 1 at Vienna City Hall.

He was previously married to Christine Gmeiner, Cornelia Laufersweiler, Susanne Dietrich, Christina Lugner and Playboy model Cathy Schmitz and leaves behind four children from his previous relationships.

The US Sun reported the businessman had been experiencing various health issues in recent months, allegedly admitted to hospital in July on two separate occasions after experiencing back pain and later suffering from a ruptured heart valve.

And Reiländer has since taken to Instagram to speak out on her husband’s passing.

She shared a painted portrait of her late husband on Instagram on Tuesday (August 13).

The caption reads: “You were the dream of my life. And when I saw you beaming at the sight of me, I knew that I was yours too. With love.”

And she’s not the only one to take to social media to pay tribute to the businessman.

Lugner’s shopping center Lugner City took to Facebook, writing: [Translation] “Our Engineer Richard Lugner, our mortar and above all our beloved boss has unfortunately left us today.

“We can hardly put into words the pain we feel. The grief is indescribably great, but we want to reflect on all the beautiful and great times together. With a laughing and a crying eye we say goodbye to the great Richard Lugner, in our hearts he will stay forever!”

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer took to Twitter to share a photograph of himself, Lugner and the billionaire’s plus one at the Vienna Opera Ball, Priscilla Presley.

He wrote: [Translation] “Richard Lugner was a successful entrepreneur and a dazzling personality. An Austrian original who never lost his way. May he rest in peace!”

And First Vienna FC tweeted: [Translation] “In memory of Richard Lugner. It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to Richard Lugner, our long-time partner and friend.

His support was one of the building blocks for Vienna’s comeback. Our thoughts are with his family. Thank you for everything.”
