The mixed reactions to Demi Lovato’s support for Kamala Harris are a continuation of the kind of comments that people often leave under her social media posts. However, the Heart Attack singer seems to be unfazed by the trolling or hateful comments as stated in her March 2024 interview with PEOPLE.
Demi Lovato told the publication:
“My relationship with social media has evolved over the years from looking to the internet for validation to not looking at internet comments at all. If I happen to see something negative, it doesn’t affect me the way that it used to.”
The singer also talked about having compassion for those who troll her online. She mentioned that the people commenting mean things under her posts “lack awareness” or sef-love and respect because no person navigating “from a higher sense of good” would comment hateful and negative things on someone’s page.
Demi Lovato has not been in the limelight for a long time until her latest MET Gala appearance in May 2024. Furthermore, the singer also hinted at releasing a new album at the event. Demi released her ninth studio album Revamped in 2023 and revealed in her red-carpet interview at the MET Gala:
“I’m in the studio right now, working on new music,” she revealed. “And hopefully it’ll be out in the near future. Music is on the way.”
